danny jones hopes for a metro govt. He would love to anex cross lanes into charleston. High paying jobs of around $13,000 + tips I wonder if those who voted for the bill consider they won’t get much social security paid in if they don’t report their total tips. I also wonder if they will be proud of the young people who are majoring in gambling 101 in college, instead of acutally contributing something worthwhile to society.

You’re absolutely correct with both your responses. Nitro will only add to their police/fire protection although crime will not go up - per Rusty Casto. I believe the NOs still have a slim chance. I’m holding on till the bitter end.

I am very disappointed….33 votes! I know at least half that many people who, for the past couple of months talk of how they are against it and we need to keep casino gambling out of our backyard, but when it came time to vote, they chose not to. I want to emphasize here that every vote counts.

I really wish more folks from Nitro would have taken the time to vote… I live in Nitro, and I voted against it, as did my wife and father-in-law… If this does get the yes when all the votes are counted and verified, I really doubt it will do much of anything. If by some chance it does everything they claim, the traffic will be so bad, I’ll have to move.

I am not surprised that the vote passed in Nitro with the current government supporting it. You would think the folks in Nitro would stop taking the advice of a group that constantly looks foolish in the local news.

I don’t understand how you say Cross Lanes won it for the gamblers, looks to me like from your numbers (which I didn’t see reported in the paper) show that Danny’s gang won it. Along with payin em a buck a week we now get to support their gambling addiction.
