Although I was not embarrassed for him I heard Daryl McGraw speak at the Edgewood summit and to be perfectly honest I thought he was silly. Silly is the first word that came to mind, I thought he would be more distinguished in his speech. He is the true reflection of what is wrong with West Virginia.

Greear had a sports coat and khakis on... very appropriate as a statewide candidate.

No, there were hour long discussions on what should be worn - NO focus groups were brought in to discuss what would make the picnic goers more likely to contribute! :-)

I very pleased that I attended Dan Greear’s cook out tonight, and I have to say Dan is a candidate that we can all feel good about supporting. You couldn’t ask for nicer people than Dan’s family and it was great to see that many people rally around Greear as he prepares for the election next week. As I spoke to people this evening I gathered that he is very well respected and most of the people there said they normally don’t get involved in politics, but Dan goes to their church and they know first hand that he is a very harder worker and he is an honest man. I believe that says a lot about Dan’s character.

I was planning to support Dan before I went to the cook out, but after this evening I am a Greear supporter 110%. I’ve had an opportunity to meet Hiram Lewis, Dan’s primary opponent, and frankly, there is absolutely no contest. After hearing Hiram speak in person at Del. Kelli Sobonya’s fundraiser in February and at a Kanawha County Republican Women’s luncheon, I’m not too sure if Hiram is capable of being the attorney general. I was nearly embarrassed for him as he rambled on the names of people he was related to in the late 18th century (true story), I guess he was hoping someone would recognize a name and vote for him.

Greear on the other hand is very well spoken, he has identified the problems that exist in the current attorney general’s office and he has specific plans to fix those problems. Anyone can say “change” and list all the problems, but Greear is one of the only candidates I’ve ever seen running for office who can specifically tell you how he/she is doing to fix those problems. In addition to telling me how he’s going to fix those problems, I believe I can trust him to deliver on those promise.

We don’t just have a candidate that can beat Daryl McGraw; we have Dan Greear who is going to be a great attorney general. Shout it from the roof tops!

If you are still considering your options, I urge you to support Dan Greear for Attorney General on May13th.

–I have chosen to remain anonymous in my post due to my involvement in WV Republican politics, I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but I felt compelled to share my thoughts about my experience tonight.

From the picture it looks like Dan Greear has a suit on at the picnic.

I don't know too many politicians that would wear a suit to an event like the one described.

Oh well...I am sure there was a strategy session on what he should wear.
