Greear set to roll out campaign platform on Hoppy’s show July 14, 2008
AG candidate Dan Greear is set to roll-out his campaign platform on Hoppy’s show on Tuesday at 11:06am.
Let’s be honest, just about everyone including many Democrats after grown weary of the circus that is the AG’s office under Darrell McGraw. They are tired of seeing their taxpayer funds being used for trinkets and photographers and just about anything you can fit the name “Darrell McGraw.” They are tired of seeing his campaign contributors getting rich off of sweetheart deals through the AG’s Special Assistant-Let’s-Make-Our-Trial-Lawyer-Buddies-Rich Program orginiated in Darrell’s office. They are weary of his doling out settlement funds, flouting the Constitution as our top “legal officer” in the state. Silly Constitution, how dare it get in the way of helping Darrell get re-elected.
But, all that weariness adds up to 49.9% of the population. That’s the percentage of the population who were willing to give Hiram Lewis a shot at running the office when 99.5% of them had no idea who Hiram Lewis even was.
To get to 53% or %52% or heck, even 50.01%, the population of that state needs to know the person replacing Darrell is capable of doing the job.
And, in this case, we have an AG candidate not only capable, but highly qualified. Greear’s campaign platform will give people a reason to vote for a change in the AG’s office, not just against Darrell.
Imagine this crazy concept that hasn’t been seen in 16 years in the AG’s office… the concept of actually, simply, DOING THE JOB OF ATTORNEY GENERAL. Wow, a novel concept.
How about instead of creating a mass tort firm that uses the resources of the state to extort funds from companies and then doling out those funds with no process and no accountability… how about instead of that we have someone who…. GASP!… simply represents the state of West Virginia.
Crazy indeed.
But, it’s about time, and Greear’s platform for the fall campaign and his first term in office will make the case that its time for a new direction in the AG’s office.
