Greear wins by 10,000 votes; thanks supporters for overwhelming win May 14, 2008

A Thank You note from Dan Greear…

Thank you for your vote!  On to Victory in November!

Friends and Supporters,

What a victory!

Thank you very much for your support during this hard fought primary.  I am honored and humbled that you would put your trust in me to carry the fight to Darrell McGraw in the fall campaign.

And, let me say this, WE are ready for the fight!  Our campaign team is already plotting out our strategy to defeat Darrell and bring back dignity to the office of Attorney General in our state.

But, tonight we celebrate our victory as a family and as a team.  My wife, Amy, sons Josh and Ben and our entire family thanks you.  Our campaign team and all those who volunteered and helped in the efforts, I can’t thank you enough for the work you did on my behalf.

And, a special thank you to my friend and opponent during this primary, Hiram Lewis.  Hiram ran a spirted campaign and brought energy and fight to the race.  I was pleased when he called me to congratulate me on our victory and appreciated his pledge to do what he could to help defeat Darrell McGraw in the fall.  Hiram’s efforts and the campaign we waged against each other will make us better and stronger in the fall.

Tonight is a night to celebrate our victory in the primary.  But, tomorrow, we begin a long march toward November and a battle to bring respectability and honor back to the AG’s Office.

Thanks again for your support and I will thank you in advance for your help in the general election campaign.

Dan Greear
Candidate, Attorney General

I met Dan and his wife at a dinner in Morgantown last month. They are very impressive.

We need people such as Dan to straighten out the mess that is escalating in West Virginia.

We certainly cannot expect the current AG to investigate the mess at WVU, can we? He’s probably too busy ordering more advertising trinkets with his name on them.

Everyone of us owes it to ourselves to do all that we can to help Dan Greear get elected in November and FINALLY rid state government of Darrell McGraw.

Congratulations Dan on your victory. I know you will bring honor and integrity to the Office of Attorney General just as you did as a member of the WV House of Delegates. May God continue to bless you in your campaign for the 2008 general election cycle.

Congratulations Dan. It is an honor to know you and a even greater honor to support you in the fight to bring integrity to office of Attorney General.

Congrats to all of you that had a part in Dan’s campaign… mostly to Vic and Suzette! I am honored to be a part of this “winning team!”

    ON TO NOVEMBER!

Admiral Yamamoto, after the success of the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 said of America: “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve”.

When the Trial Lawyers start to fear that the AG office will no longer be a State sponsored litigation machine passing out dollars to the Attorney community, a sleeping giant will awaken with LOTS of money to Keep McGraw in power.

Gonna be a tough fight this fall folks.

Congratulations Dan. I have enjoyed meeting and talking to you on these stops. We’ll be working hard to try to get you in there this November.

Congratulations, Mr. Greear! I intend to tell as many people about your campaign as possible and get them to the polls in November. Your election will be one step toward reforming the long-ailing legal system in WV.

But Mikey’s right…it’s going to be very tough. Get a big catcher’s mitt because the trial lawyers & McGraw are going to throw everything at you. You threaten their power and their system from which they’ve benefited for many years.

    from an emailer…

    - Comments on how Jay Rockefeller, Glen Gainer, and others are so out of touch with their other Dems that they supported Obama who got his lunch served to him with a 40+ point defeat…
    - How Ann Barth will handle a fall campaign where her only running plank is that she worked for Byrd for 21 years - no real issue statements seen from her so far…
    - How McGraw will crank up the mailings from his office in an effort to, “educate” the public about Darrell McGraw…OOPS!!! I mean consumer issues (lol)
    - How McCain must be revelling in the fact that the Dems are so split at the top of the ticket that the chances of reuniting fully by November are about as high as Devil Anse Hatfield printing an apology and a retraction to the McCoys in the Williamson newspaper…
    - That the exit pols in West Virginia are showing the same thing as in Pennsylvania and Ohio - that less than 30% of Obama supporters would support Clinton in the fall and less than 20% of Clinton supporters would support Obama in November…
    - any commentary about how “I like Spike” backfired on the Chamber of Commerce…Mayor Danny Jones on WCHS TV called Don Blankenship, “political poison”…
