I’m with McCain and Palin September 5, 2008
I was explaining to someone today the difference in my attitude before and after Palin’s addition to the ticket.
Before I was definitely for John McCain and would have voted for him.
After the addition of Palin, I feel energized and ready to do anything I can to help the ticket win.
What a difference a few days make.
It’s not that I thought Palin was that wonderful of a candidate. I had heard of her in the past, but never even enough to mention her as a potential VP Candidate. My thought was - Alaska? Who would put up a VP from Alaska?
Then, Palin was nominated and I heard her story.
And, I began feeling stronger about the ticket, not because Palin was this amazing candidate, but because she seemed like one of us. Someone who actually knew what she was doing. Someone who had actually run a state. Her personal story was amazing and a huge seller to Republicans.
Then, it started.
I actually can’t recall the savaging of any candidate on the national stage on the equivalency of the Washington media’s treatment of her. And, it was clear, that had the Democratic nominee for VP had been a female Democratic governor of Kansas who was serving in her first term, or heck even a Democratic governor of Virginia serving in his, the treatment would have been much, much better. In fact, my guess is the national media wouldn’t have bothered to even question their qualifications.
Anyone who knows me knows that I’m not a political junkie. I don’t watch CNN and Fox religiously. I don’t watch Conventions. I hate State of the Union speeches. I hate scripts and down to the second details as if its some sitcom where you know exactly how it will end. I watched Obama’s speech for maybe 30 minutes or so and had enough. When CNN referred to the speech and the zealotry of Obama’s supporters as “near-religious” I had enough. In fact, it was religious for many Democrats, after all, government is a religion to them and Obama promised us all the ability to drink more from the Democrat’s cup of life.
Obama’s self-righteous, it’s-all-about-me-and-how-great-I-am, turned me off.
I didn’t watch a lick of the Republican Convention either. I hate the script.
But, after the savage beating Governor Palin was taking, I began turning. The attacks on her (someone with significantly more experience actually running something than Obama) began to simply… well… piss me off.
She was begin crucified because her teen daughter was pregnant. GASP! No American family has ever experienced that.
She was being pummelled because GASP! She switched colleges multiple times. Certainly, no American family has ever experienced that either.
She was being beaten… why?
Because she came from small-town America.
The liberal elites in the media and the Harvard and Cornell types sneered down their nose at this oddity. A pro-life woman? A woman who hunted and rode snowmobiles?
To them, it was as if she had been dropped in from the planet Mars.
But, what they don’t understand, why she as 80% approval ratings in her state, why she made the cut on the ticket was because… she was a leader who could connect with small-town America.
So, I was rooting for her during her speech and completely worried that she would fail.
What happened?
KAPOW! She completely knocked it out of the park. A home run. A grand slam.
She took the podium, took the criticism, and shoved that criticism right back down the throats of her detractors… with as much grace as a seasoned veteran.
Even CNN commented that a “star” was born.
This was a Reagan moment.
This was an Obama 2004 moment. Her speech will literally go down in the history books as one of the most astounding certainly of my generation.
She went from an unknown Governor of Alaska to being a Rock Star.
And, then tonight McCain took the stage.
The contrast between McCain and Obama is absolutely stunning. McCain was humble. He was proclaiming how it was America’s time, not his own.
His detailing of his nearly six years in a Vietnamese prison camp was unbelievable.
It wasn’t macho, it wasn’t about how he was this tough guy. It was about how he broke. How he prayed. How the only way he survived was his fellow prisoners who took care of him. How when he was offered early release he WANTED to come home.
It wasn’t a ‘look how great I am’ speech. It was a ‘look how great our country is that a guy as imperfect as me is running for President’ speech.
It was a home run as well.
I mean, this is a guy who was tortured on a near daily basis - for five-and-a-half years. I mean, what do you say to that?
His torture wasn’t getting less than three square meals a day or the inability to have your own prayer run at Guantanamo Bay (offenses that cause liberals today to wear chalise around their thigh, so with each step they can suffer as the poor terrorists in Guantanamo suffer). This was a daily beating and torturing that would make our terrorist friends at Gitmo feel like they were living in a country club.
And, after each beating, McCain came back and clung to his religion and his country, the very things now derided by Democrats.
McCain also gave the Republicans a good shaking. A shaking they desperately needed.
He and Palin will remold the party. It’s John McCain’s party now. And, I never thought I’d say this, but I’m damn proud to be a part of it and I’m ready to work every day between now and the election to help McCain win.
What a difference a few days and the Governor of Alaska make.

McCain gets a pass on anything and everything, as far as I’m concerned. And Palin is the icing on the cake. I’ve often thought that the republican party may need to suffer a humiliating defeat after the irresponsible spending of George W and his idiot father. Now, I believe that the party may actually be brought kicking and screaming back to the reality of fiscal conservatism by none other than Sarah Palin.
While years of humiliation have not yet restored fiscal and political discipline to the WV republican party, maybe there is a Sarah Palin somewhere in West Virginia that could do it for them…
During Sarah Palin’s speech, I was literally standing and applauding in my living room. THAT is why I’ve never waivered from supporting the Republican ticket. We stand for fiscal discipline, low taxes, and a strong, VICTORIOUS foreign policy. Yesterday I e-mailed some friends and wrote that as far as I’m concerned, the ticket looks like mccain/PALIN ‘08.
However, last night as I watched McCain’s speech I realized that even though I disagree with him on some issues, his character and love for this country…his SERVANT’S HEART make him hands-down the better choice for President. I actually teared up because it felt so good to listen to someone and watch people who genuinely love America. After 4 days last week of the shallow, Bush-bashing, rock concert, cult-of-personality hype, this week was about honor, service, and concrete conservative principles.
…and simply put, the American left and the so-called “mainstream” media ought to be ashamed of themselves. The sexist, hypocritical attacks on Sarah Palin have exposed these so-called “journalists” for what they are: lapdogs for the Democrat party. Just watch 10 minutes of DNCTV (a.k.a. MSNBC) and you’ll know what I’m talking about.
So, proudly, I say MCCAIN-PALIN ‘08!!!
Oh yeah, I even watched some of the kook…uh…Ron Paul “convention”. I needed a good laugh, I guess. The big news from that gathering (which didn’t even come close to filling the hall) was that Jesse Ventura MIGHT run for President in 2012. Conspiracy theorists UNITE!! I can hear his acceptance speech now…
“If you don’t believe that 9/11 was an inside job, I’ll crush you in the squared circle!”
Not sure where I read it, probably in our local newspaper - there was an interview with Governor Manchin asking him what he thinks about Sarah Palin. Apparently, they worked together on some energy related committee. All he could say was, “Well, I cannot root for her TOO MUCH (Duh - since she is a REPUBLICAN!) but she is a nice person.” I just remember thinking, “Wow - all you can say is she is a NICE PERSON????” He just could not bring himself to admit that she is a smart, capable woman and candidate. It was funny; he looked like he was in a bit of a pickle as to what to say.
As a former Republican turned Constitutionalist, I was very drawn into the message at the convention.
I liked what I heard, I’m glad to hear what I heard, BUT I DON’T BELEIVE THE MEAN IT!
Listen, I’ve heard these same types of messages all my life at these conventions. I’ve voted them into office for these reasons and they do the opposite.
The republicans won’t limit government, give me my freedoms back, cut my taxes, and so forth.
Bush and the Republicans had the majority for 6 years. They didn’t do any of this. Matter of fact they increased spending, took away freedoms, and adpoted things that Hilter used.
I’m very pessimistic about this, I feel burned by them 1 to many times. I didn’t hear much talk about restoring constitutional freedoms like the message of the constitution party.
Palins Pastor said that anyone who questions leaders are doing the work of Hell(devil). That sounds hitlerish. So I should question leaders? What if they get in office? If I question a policy then will I get arrested for excersicing my freedom because they call it the devils work?
Even Hitler quoted Romans 13 to get the religious to support him.
However, I was drawn in by the message. But fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
I’ve been fooled by the Republicans before, do they really mean what they say?
Palin is the token minority (non White male) on the ticket, nothing more. She was placed there for the sole reason of snatching angry Hillary supporters.
If McCain wins, she will be delegated to cutting ribbons on new Federal facilities and kept isolated and out of the governing loop.
I wish Palin was running for President, not McCain.
McCain wins the gun luving, religion clinging, racist redneck vote in West Virginia but the Messiah wins the General.
You people will pay dearly for not voting for Obama. The EPA, OSM, MSHA, Corp. of Engineers and various and sundry other Federal agencies will descend on the racist State and play hell with the Mining industry. The Messiah can kill 2 birds with one stone.. Appeasing his Environmentalist supporters and teaching us rednecks a lesson.
Better think twice folks
Let’s take a look at all of this without the benefit of rose-colored glasses. First on Palin:
We Democrats underestimate Gov. Palin at our own risk. She is a charismatic, proven vote-getter who can energize people (I don’t think we need to look any further than the above post to see evidence of that.) and has executive experience. I keep hearing a lot about her executive experience. She was a mayor and is currently a governor and I do not discount that experience as being valuable. She has more executive experience than Obama and Biden put together. But Republicans have to be careful. It seems hypocritical to run around the country touting Palin as the experience candidate against the Democrats when she also has more than McCain. When the Republicans swap their nominees and put Palin at the top of the ticket because of her vast experience, I’ll buy their argument that it really matters that she has more than Obama/Biden.
Sebilius, Kaine, and Bayh and Romney, Lieberman, Pawlenty, (to a certain degree Fiorina and Whitman) as well as Obama, Biden and McCain have all gone through the media’s vetting process. To one degree or another we have seen stories about all these candidates. The media is playing catch-up on behalf of the entire American public when it comes to Gov. Palin. It seems likely to me that, when a pick is a surprise (even the people writing the speech for the VP had to change the prepared text to make it less “masculine”) you can expect a media frenzy.
And a media frenzy is exactly what the McCain campaign was hoping for. They needed to get the media off of talking about Obama’s acceptance speech and it worked. For their part it was brilliant campaign strategy. They also succeeded in their media strategy. They had to have known about the skeletons in Palin’s closet. By setting up the media to go after her as the McCain campaign knew would happen, they were able to turn it around and play the victim card – a card which earns sympathy for the candidate. It’s blatantly hypocritical to throw an unknown into the mix and then complain when new information is discovered.
And, Senator, you are correct: plenty of American families have experienced teen pregnancy. The ONLY reason there is an issue is Gov. Palin’s own resolute position advocating “abstinence-only” sex education. We should presume that she practiced what she preaches in her own household. We are now being given a prime example of just how well that educational track works. Bristol Palin has made an honorable and courageous decision and should be applauded for it. It’s the same decision we made in my own family just over 8 years ago. I thank God she chose correctly. The issue is not one of control over your children. It’s an issue of stubbornly clinging to an educational policy that has proven time and again to be ineffective in reducing the occurrence of teen pregnancy.
Gov. Palin’s speech was a home run if you were looking to energize the base. Focus groups done after the speech show that independents weren’t swayed. They found her speech mean-spirited and sarcastic. Facts have also proven out that she told a lot of blatant lies (her non-support for the Bridge to Nowhere for example). And yes, a star was born- one that has a bright future in national politics potentially for decades to come. But being a “Rock Star” means being a celebrity and being popular, and we’ve been hearing all summer about how that is a bad thing. To turn around at this point and declare that Gov. Palin is a great “Rock Star” for the party is again hypocritical.
Finally, Senator, you may not be a political junkie, but you seem to have the talking points down pat. “Obama’s self-righteous, it’s-all-about-me-and-how-great-I-am, turned me off,” you say. Maybe if you were more of a political junkie you would have actually paid attention and realized that the speech was not about him. It was about how his policies are different than McCain’s and why that is good for the country.
All we’ve heard from the Republican convention this week has been personal attacks and that John McCain was a POW. I’m honestly sorry he was a POW. No one should have to go through what he did. I’m glad he survived and was able to continue serving our country because, as much as I disagree with him, he has been an important voice in the debate on the issues of our time. But, being a POW does not automatically qualify him to be President of the United States and it is shameful for his surrogates to use it as a prop or excuse for everything about John McCain.
I couldnt agree more vic. I found myself for the first time not as involved as I normally am during Presidential campaigns. After the past 2 nights, I got up this morning and the very first thing I did was donate to the RNC. I think McCain & Palin are the power candidates we need.
Libs are hysterical over Palin and I’m laughing my arse off over it.
You libs have NOTHING. Obama’s “change” and “hope” mantra has played out. All that is left are his far left socialistic ideas, his ties to terrorists and sick support of infanticide. And, your hypocrisy in attacking a woman.
Palin will be the nation’s first woman VP. Too bad you Democrat’s are too sexist to claim that title.
You know, as a little “l” libertarian, something struck me about Mccain’s speech. It wasn’t the Hilton story. It wasn’t his honesty or introspection. Mainly, because his eyes did not reflect the pain he should’ve been feeling at recalling that time and story. That had little effect on me.
What *did* strike me, is that that huge portions of his message were tailor-made for the little-l libertarians among us. Some of us who truly believe in smaller, less powerful government. There are more of us than many might think. Except maybe Mccain. It’s clear to me that Mccain is keenly aware of how many of these folks see “voting their conscience” as superior to “voting for the lesser of two evils.” People who might write in Ron Paul. People who might not even punch the ballot in the presidential election.
That speech was tailor made for me, and people like me. Now the question of the day is “would he follow through?”
from an emailer…
GREAT I am with you all the way. AddingSarah Palin to the ticket has given me something to be really excited about.

AMEN! That’s what I’m saying. Just because they say it, and make you “feel” good doesn’t mean we won’t get burned again by the Republicans. WILL THEY FOLLOW THRU? DO THEY REALLY MEAN IT? I’M NO FOOL FOR THEM ANYMORE!
I’m tired of empty promises and hype. I am a conscience voter not a lesser of 2 evils voter this year and from now one.
I may still write in Ron Paul or vote for Chuck Baldwin…they will follow thru for me!
(baldwin08.com) is the Constitution parties presidential choice.

I was never a big McCain fan. A few years ago, my younger brother was telling me how much he liked him, and I gave him the old “RINO” line.
But I have to say: After Saddleback, the Palin pick, and last night-I’m definitely supporting the ticket.
I think that Sarah Palin may just be the future of our party. That’s weird to say, but she just might be.
I’m with you, Vic: What can I do to help?
Way to use that Dem. fluff queen Olbermann’s words in his description of Sen. Clintons speech.
Your boy Rudy needs to hit Toastmasters again.
Huckabee and Thompson were dead on and fantastic.
Palen makes this ticket bearable. Still not the reformations that America needs… i.e. Fairtax, elimination of current application of the 16th amendment, striking down the McCain-Feingold provisions, strengthening of States Rights, and rooting out fraud in medicade and social security.
But we will see. Most don’t understand a Republic. Thus don’t focus on what the candidates are saying/doing/done.
I will be voting for John McCain. I was going to vote for him before Ms. Palin came aboard and now my feelings are stonger than ever. Quite frankly, Obama scares the “hell” out of me. I am all for change, but no one, republican or democrat has stated “How” they will make the changes. You can stand up there all day and spout about what you want to do, what we should do, etc. but you better damn sight tell me how you’re gonna do it!!!
To #6,
Mikey,
If your intent is to try to scare me into voting for Obama, you have utterly failed. Better men than you have tried to scare me, and it didn’t work. All of my scars are on the front….bring it on!
Sorry Vic…but I just don’t see the advantage to McCain with his choice of Palin. She is just a token female that he thought might draw some of Hillary’s supporters. From what I’ve been reading, it’s just the opposite. Females are really angry now because of this stupid gesture. And, by the way, abstinence was apparently not taught in the Palin household! Palin has been instructed not to go on any of the talk shows such as “Meet The Press” because of her lack of knowledge about the nation’s problems. So Vic, it ain’t going to work!
I’m consistently amazed by people who want higher taxes, who want our troops to retreat in Iraq, who actually want government to nanny them ’til the grave.
What is wrong with you libs anyway? Do you lack self-confidence or something? Why do you hate anyone who preaches self-reliance? Why do you feel you have to destroy anyone on a personal level just because they disagree with you? I assure you that if Palin were a liberal Democrat you’d be teary-eyed, talking about what a strong woman she is to have 5 children and a successful political career. But NOOOOO…she’s a conservative Republican so you have to destroy her personally. What petulant children you are!
How could you have so easily missed what America is all about? I assure you, our founding fathers would choke in disgust at the nanny state we currently have, yet you people want to make it bigger. Let’s call you what you really are: American socialists. After all, that is your ultimate goal: Government taking over individual lives and entire industries. So let’s be honest and not use silly terms like “progressive”. There is nothing progressive about 20th century-style socialism, ok?
Admitting you have a problem is the first step toward recovery.
My mom is a 57 year young retired mother of two and a registered democrat. She took me and my sister to school everyday until we could drive ourselves and always managed to have dinner on the table when my father got home from work. Until last week she was completely undecided on who to support for President. My mom made up her mind when John McCain announced Sarah Palin as his running mate. She has never been interested in politics but now she’s excited; someone just like her is running for Vice President. She isn’t alone… My mom is voting for John McCain and Sarah Palin!
Russ, Russ, Russ…
If you read my posts here, you know I’m a gun toting, religion holding West Virginia Republican with a cynical view on anything Political or Social
My point is that O’Bama is going to win (the Swing States are the issue, NOT WV)and his Elitist, Left Wing, Marxist, Envirowacko puppet masters will seek vengeance on West Virginia. I don’t even think the Carpet-Bagger or Crazy Grandpa can protect us.
WV would be better off to stay in-line with the rest of the good little goose stepping Democrats and vote for the Messiah. Just think of the new Entitlement dollars that could be thrown our way.
Very good. In fact, it could have come right out of my own thoughts.
Win!
To the #7 post - Davey - In regards to Sarah Palin’s daughter being pregnant, therefore it shows that abstinence education doesn’t work.
First of all that is like saying we shouldn’t teach our children good nutrition because many of them are overweight and do not eat right. Or we shouldn’t try to teach them good money management because many adults can’t manage money. Or heck why teach kids anything because a lot of them fail or quit school.
Also since most states do not teach abstinence education, but other “safe” sex-education programs, they must not be working, because so many young women are getting pregnant as teens and are not married.

I love McCain and Palin. MY hubby is Active duty in the Army and for many reasons they are the best choice. I love what they stand for and I love many things about them. Palin is a mom with 5 kids. I have 2 and one more on the way. I just think they truly are good people who care for people and this country. My prayers are with them and this country as it approaches the election. GOOOO McCAIN/PALIN!!!!
Buddy,
It was so cute the way you started off by ridiculing my name like that. Endearing even.
Here’s the difference from your arguments. When we teach nutrition or money management we teach all aspects of the program. I’m simply saying that abstinence-only programs don’t teach the whole program and should never be considered a viable option.
There are several ways a person can handle sex. The best option to prevent disease and pregnancy is obviously abstinence and should be a part of any sex-ed curriculum (as it was when I was in school). But it should be a part of the curriculum and not the only part. Students should also learn about various methods of contraception. Just telling students not to have sex will not stop all students. They are going to make that choice for themselves. I pray they all make that choice. And telling them about contraception will not make them use it if they have sex, but at least they know about the option.
Knowing about the foods to eat to be healthy and choosing to eat junk food is an option. (BK should love this. It’s all about personal freedom and the government not telling you what to do.) Knowing how to manage money and choosing to make bad financial decisions is an option. At least they have been taught the full program and know the consequences of not making the right choices.
Sex does not necessarily lead to pregnancy or disease. We owe it to our children to tell them that abstinence is the only 100% prevention. We also owe it to them to let them know that if they don’t choose to abstain, it doesn’t necessarily mean they will die of syphilis. Abstinence-only programs don’t teach the whole picture and therefore are a failure.
Thank God John McCain chose Governor Sarah Palin, it gives us a chance to win & bring reform to Washington, I have been thrilled by the support coming in from so many people, & many of my friends suffering from apathy… We are finally united! Governor Sarah Palin is a great woman & a great leader, she’ll mop up Joe Biden easily in a debate… Shame on the Media for trying to destroy this great person!
Take care & God Bless,

As the mother of a 23 year old son and a 19 year old daughter, I have one question to pose regarding the 2008 presidential election: If your son or daughter were serving in the military in a foreign country during wartime, would you want Barack Hussein Obama as the commander in chief making all the decisions or a war veteran such as John McCain? Sarah Palin on the ticket has energized the GOP base. She was a good choice. It goes to show that if you take a stand and draw a line in the sand and never waiver, you will earn the respect of the American people.
Yes People, No doubt about it, McCains choice for VP Sarah Palin has given a “big boost” to his campaign.
And theres no doubt that Obama and his supporters are having trouble with it.
I do believe this 2009 election will have a great impact on this nation. Personally,It could result in the beginning of the end, depending on who is elected.
I also believe there is a ground swell among voters that have a desire to see this nation change its course on status quo politics. Yes its time for change, but Obama is not the man to make that change..
As far as the WV. governors election the concenus is the MOJO will win. But even if he does, and McCain wins the election, not only Manchin, but other elected state representatives must be held accountable by the voters for endorseing Obama !
You know that these state elected representatives endorsed Obama even when the voters of WV voted for McCain…Who do these WV elected represent ? Its certainly not the voters !
Del. Sobonya,
Answer: Barack Hussein Obama
Now let me ask you a question. Why is it you use Obama’s middle name in your question but not John McCain’s (Sidney)? Or Sarah Palin’s (Louise)? Are you still trying to convince people that Obama is foreign or a Muslim? If so, you should call the GOP and ask them to send you an update of your talking points.
Anyone who knows me knows that I know lil if anything about politics whether it be local or national. I couldnt tell u who was running agenst Manchine or the names of all the ones that started running for president in the spring. But I’ve found myself become more interested in this race. After reading some of the comments I just wanted to add a few of my own…
1- Just bc someone in a particular party didnt keep there promise in the past doesnt mean that everyone that is a part of that party will not also in the future. I mean look at WV, obviously some democrates cant keep their promises either. Dont judge someone bc of their political party bc really how do we know if ANYONE will keep their promise reguardless of the party?
2 - Yes Sarah will get some supporters just bc she is a woman but so did Hilary. And Obama has some of his supporters just bc hes black. By election time, HOPEFULLY ppl will vote on who they truely think is more qualified and ready to run our country and not soley bc of their race or gender.
McCain has the potential to become a true reformer, another Teddy Roosevelt. However, it would be an uphill battle for any president to make the kind of change we need. First, the overwhelming majority of the federal budget is locked in, for entitlements and other programs no one can really touch; only a small slice of the pie is discretionary spending. Second, the special interests have a lock on Congress like never before; nothing gets passed without their OK–often they even write the legislation. Third, many of our problems (Medicare and social security going broke; the biggest transfer of wealth in history, from U.S. to oil nations) cannot be fixed without major sacrifices and changes which Americans don’t yet view as necessary. Whether Obama or McCain, we’re in for some VERY tough years ahead, unfortunately. Part of me wants Obama to get the blame for it! But then I realize that more socialism and appeasement is the LAST thing we need.
P.S. It only reveals how depraved are the minds of the hostile news media and Democrats that they aren’t praising Palin’s daughter for not aborting the baby.
Dave - I did not intentionally mean to spell your name Davey, I’m old and forgot exactly(I also think another blog has a regular named Davey), believe me no harm was meant.
About abstinence education I’m not even sure I spelled that right. I may be wrong, but I believe Gov. Palin wants abstinence taught along with the other, which as far as I know is what most of us “far right” people want, but currently in most states you can’t, b/c of seperation of church and state. And as I said the current way is not working.
Also I agree with your comment toward Del Sobonya in regards to Obama’s middle name. While I agree with her post, I feel the ones of us (conservatives)that continually stress his middle name lose credability. There is enough legitamite things to be opposed to Sen. Obama about, forget about his middle name.
GOD BLESS
BUDDY
Buddy, no hard feelings. And I apologize for flying off the handle and getting all sarcastic.
In her 2006 race for Governor of Alaska, Palin was asked the following question in a questionnaire from the Eagle Forum Alaska:
“Will you support funding for abstinence-until-marriage education instead of for explicit sex-education programs, school-based clinics, and the distribution of contraceptives in schools?”
Her response: “Yes, the explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support.”
To this point I am unaware of any laws that prevent teachers from discussing abstinence, but they may very well exist. I can tell you that if the “far right” wants to INCLUDE abstinence as part of a full sex-ed curriculum they will find a partner from the “far left” in me.
And you are definitely right about the middle name. Conservatives have plenty of issues with which to disagree with Obama and should do so boisterously. Using his middle name as an issue indicates one of two things: 1. You don’t think you can win votes on your views of policy issues or 2. You think your constituents are too stupid to tell the difference between personal attacks and policy differences and are too lazy to educate them.

Do you really believe they mean all this freedom talk at the convention? They are lying!
To stop socialism and change DC is to stop voting for the 2 parties that have held it hostage.
McCain brags about being a Maverick yet quiets the other Maverick Ron Paul. That’s called hypocrisy. The republicans disregarded the official delegate votes for Ron Paul. Unconstitutional.
And you think they are the party of ideas? Freedom? Pro-Constitution?
Bud, they’re lying to you again and you are buying it. Hitler did the same. He even used Romans 13 from the Holy Bible to win over religious folk. The Germans believed in him but they were wrong.
The fact that Ron Paul supporters compare Bush & McCain to Hitler is one example of why no one takes you or your candidate seriously. To make such a comparison shows a glaring ignorance of history on a huge scale.
Another example is the fact that none of you take the war on terror seriously and think it’s all a giant conspiracy by the dastardly George W. Bush. Our nation can’t afford to elect people with such a nonchalant attitude when we’re threatened by enemies who play by no rules.
B.k.
It analogy of the menatlity. We have no business fighting wars all around the globe.
We have no business having troops in 140+ countries, that compromises our security.
We have no business making Americans transparent to government via patriot act. That compromises our bill of rights. Any excuse you give to compromise our bill of rights is wrong.
“those who would be willing to give up freedom (bill of rights) for SECURITY deserves NONE!”
Are you willing to give up our sacred Constitution/Bill of rights to fight terrorist? Fear the enemy within who can destroy our constitution not those outside.
Whose side are you one, the tyrants or the founding fathers?
Palin is the first of the Independent/constitutionalist to make it this close to the white house. She praises Ron Paul…did you know that?
Can she serve 2 masters? can she serve the constitution(she’s done well with this) and the cosntitutional apostate McCain?
She will have to compromise her constitutional credentials to defend McCains Big Government Liberalism, anti gun show, ban free speech before the election, unconstitutional war machine, New World order, long-time membership on the council of foreign nations(which strips our soverignty), pro-choice president.
Will she serve the constitution or McCains liberal government agenda?
Please list all the parts of the Patriot Act that violate any of the Bill of Rights.
…and remember, Muslim terrorists aren’t usually Americans and therefore are not afforded American civil rights.
B.K.
I shouldn’t have to answer that. ANY THING that the FEDERAL GOV. creates that EMPOWERS them to look into our lives has VIOLATED the bill of rights.
The only thing that is threat to freedom isn’t not some far off enemy but those here in D.C.
We have to guard our freedom very closely and not let FEAR…FEAR….FEAR of a foreign enemy give the FED permission to unwrite the constitution.
The idea of freedom is a private citizen and a Transparent Fed. government.
I thought you were a conservative? This is conservative/constituion 101.
Oh I forgot we have neo-con brainwashed republicans now….
We just sent $1 billion to the country of Georgia.
YOUR TAXES $$$$ ARE NOW GOING TO GEORGIA. This isn’t even a war that congress voted on.
Wow, wow, wow!!! A woman I can finally relate to and feel good about voting for. I knew I was voting for McCain but once he made the decision to add this wonderful woman, I knew there was no doubt I was making the right choice. I can’t wait to see them in the White House and running this fantastic country. We need a woman’s point of view on many things and as far as I am concerned I would ask Sarah Palin for advice on any subject. This is the change this country needs and I hope everyone comes to that realiza-
tion. I am so excited!!!
