I couldn't agree with Stephen more. Charles Minimah is worthy of our votes and our support, financial and otherwise. He will serve West Virginians with honor.

I'm doing more than just voting for Mr. Minimah. I'll attend his fundraiser and I hope to see some of you there. If we want elected officials with the integrity and dedication to serve us effectively we must do more than pay lip service about how great it is when individuals with those qualities decide to run for office!

Charles Minimah's story is an amazing one. He was born in Nigeria and served in that country's armed forces during a civil war. Minimah then came here and graduated from West Virginia State. Few people have the same kind of appreciation of freedom and democracy as those who have lived in countries that lacked it.

That is one reason why Minimah has my total support. He loves democracy and freedom enough to be zealously defensive of it. Like current Secretary Betty Ireland, Charles Minimah will zealously pursue those who seek to corrupt our voting system. His opponent, on the other hand, has very close connections with a governor who cannot distance himself from a degree scandal. Minimah also runs a home health care business and so he has a special concern for voters that might have physical difficulties getting to the polls.

The question is, who do you trust with our democracy? Minimah has passion and experience. His opponent has the close support of some people that West Virginians just are not sure they trust right now.

Dave, I would hope that before you make a final choice, you look into Charles Minimah a bit more closely. Just because he was not in the limelight does not mean he is not the best West Virginian for the job.

I would think having some knowledge of election laws would be nice if you were SOS, but maybe not. You've got a whole division of people who work at that day after day to look after that for you.

I'm voting for Tennant, but I'm glad Minimah is on the ballot. I'm not a fan of the two-party system and find it disgraceful when one party or the other can't even find a person to put their name on the ballot to at least give voters a choice. So good for Charles. There shouldn't be any empty-net races, especially for state-wide offices.
